competition - Excellent Bob keep it going.
The Epic boys and a girl have really put in some
S.E.R.I.O.U.S training we wish Liz, Brett and Hector all the best. It was great
to see Team Burry Stander Songo taking the honors at the prologue yesterday.
Well done boys we hope you take it all the way home for Burry.
Yes we are national with Cody and Jenna Sullivan taking the
prizes and positions up in Gauteng, well done you guys we are proud of you.
Siya Mpofana experienced his first Cape Argus this month and

Saying of the month :
After your first day of cycling, one dream is inevitable. A
memory of motion lingers in the muscles of your legs, and round and round they
seem to go. You ride through Dreamland on wonderful dream bicycles that
change and grow. ~H.G. Wells, The Wheels of Chance
see you in the dirt.......smiling

Sugar Challenge Mountain Bike Event
On
Sunday 01 July 2012, South Coast Hospice will be hosting the Sugar
Mountain Bike Challenge from Shelley Beach on the South Coast of KZN.
The Challenge will take place over 8 Sugar Cane farms and surrounding
areas, in the Izotsha, St Mikes, Shelley Beach and Uvongo districts.
This
event will be made up of 4 races, consisting of distances of 45km,
25km, 12km & 5km, so that everyone from your professional riders and
casual bike enthusiasts down to families and youngsters, can choose and
participate in this amazing event.
Starting at the UGU sports
Stadium in Izotsha, cyclists will pass through Scot Scott’s farm at a
brisk pace, they will cross the Hlangeni River, and onto Johan
Reddinger’s Rottenberg Farm, which is currently being leased by Anthony
Apostolides.
The track will pass the ruins, and snake towards
the back of Pure Venom and Andre Parnell’s house. Cyclists will pass
the Reddinger homestead on their way East Wards towards Betania Lutheran
church.
The site of South Coast Halfway Toyota, marks the
milestone. Turning South Wards back to Scott Scott’s, then passing Ralf
Schroder’s house, back to Hamel Farm and around and above Osca
Bruggemann’s dam, which will lead into Seaview farm (Detlerf Wiegmann),
across the D687 and down towards the Margate quarry road.
The
track branches off and goes towards the old Solana Park and loops back
passing the clay brick yard. The final stretch will head down towards
Fred Lauterbach’s Exchange farm, cutting trough the bananas and coming
out at the Uvongo, Escom sub station. Home stretch, will pass through
Hamel farm once again, and back towards the UGU stadium.
South
Coast Hospice is grateful to the farmers who have participated in this
project. This fundraising highlight would not be possible without Louis
Wiegmann, Ryan Mostert, Kurt Khun and Mark Bolton from Duracycles in
Shelly Beach.
With an estimation of 400 rider set to take to the
track and a full day of activities and entertainment on the program, for
those who are not taking to the track, we are expecting this event to
supersede our expectation and become a highlight of the South Coast
calendar during the July school holidays each year.
To become part of this winning South Coast Event and South Coast Hospice Fundraising Initiative, we have put together the following sponsorship options for your to select. http://www.schospice.co.za/sugar-mtb-challenge.html
