Pondo Pedal

With some of the Bundu boys hitting the Pondo over the weekend the stories are flying around on how great it was. Well done to everyone who took part.  To have a look at the photo's taken go to http://www.duracycles.co.za/7970.html

This weekend is the very popular Ilovo Eston MTB. Good luck to everyone taking part.
This Thursday is the Dura Time Trials happening at Uvongo Pier. Come set your time between 4:15pm and 5pm.

This Saturday mornings ride will be leaving Dura Cycles 6:30am. There are 3 MTB Groups and 2 Road groups. We are trying to get as many people to this Saturday’s ride as possible so that we can take a photograph to do an article for Ride magazine. If people can please wear their Bundu Basher kit it will help but not necessary if they don’t have.

Thats it for this week.

Beinsfield - Safire Insurance Super Classic

Last weekend KZN MTBikers heading up to Beinsfield for this years Safire Insurance Super Classic.  With and outstanding turn out it was no doubt that the racing would be hot.  With Brendon David's of Team Jeep taking his firs Super Classic win over Craig Paul and Andrew Hill, he is very chuffed with this long awaited win.  On the Bundu Bashers front Natashka Mowat had some bad luck half way into the race puncturing her rear wheel which pushed her out of the leading jersey of the Vet Ladies.  She managed to get her puncture fixed and was back on the bike to claim 2nd Best Ladies.  Master Men Johan Potgieter was having a great ride but also managed to slice his tyre which put him out of the race - Unlucky Johan.

The Dura Cycles Time Trial is now well under way and is a showing very positive results for all riders.  With most riders bettering their times it is interesting to see who will take the Van Der Spuy Boys off the Podium.

All the best to "Futureboy"  Justin Porteous for this weekends SA Xterra in Knysna.
Thursday ride is cancelled but Saturday morning ride will leave Dura Cycles 6:30am.  4 MTB Groups and 1 road group will head out.  All are welcome.

Next weekend is the very popular Ingeli Forest Super Classic.  You can get your entries in on Elitetiming.  It is going to be an awesome event so be sure to not miss out.

Thats it for this week.

Some Cool Stories

Dura Cycles With not much racing on the weekend we dont have to much to report on. I do however have some cool stories to share. With the Dura Cycles Saturday morning ride having a massive turn out, we new we would be in for some interesting riding. Taking the fast group out, with The Mr Price Specialized team riding with us the Dura boys were itching to go. With some heavy technical stuff it was full of falls, probably one of the falls of the year must go to Our local champ Burry Stander. High siding off the edge of a river bank Burry found himself almost fully submerged and the laughing stock of the group. Its just awesome to know that this machine is actually human. To make up for this fall, he then procceded to ride up a hill that is labelled unrideable. Was amazing.

This Thursday is we will be doing the Dura Cycles Time Trial, to meet at Uvongo Pier between 4:15 to 5pm to set your time. Everyone is welcome so feel free to come test the legs.

Saturday morning ride will leave Dura Cycles 6:30am. With 4 MTB groups heading out. There will be NO road ride this weekend but keep an eye open for when we will next meet up to hit the Tar.

Dura Cycles Road Cycling Club is now officially up and running and anyone interested can get there membership details from Heather Malan on 0393157359

Thats it for this week.
